Software Test Engineer / QA

This is a new role within an established QA function in a fast-growing organisation that provides an ideal opportunity for someone starting out in QA.
The candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Testing the quality, accuracy, functionality and usability of a variety of tools and applications including the Ultra Communications predictive dialler and ACD solution, in-house and externally available websites, bespoke applications, services, web based products and reporting suite.
- Design and execution of manual test plans.
- Using our issue tracking system to write up detailed results and findings from testing.
- Liaising with the Support team and management with regard to issues and customer requests.
Skills and Experience:
- Be able to work autonomously as well as within a team and inter-departmentally.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, and escalate any issues to seek a resolution.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills, specifically regarding analysing and interpreting raw data.
- Good problem-solving skills and a logical manner are advantageous.
- Must be pragmatic with sound judgement and common sense.
- Must be keen to learn.
- The role will involve a variety of tasks and so adaptability and a flexible approach is a must.
- Knowledge of SQL database systems and web technologies is desirable.
- Experience with or knowledge of call centre operations, including predictive dialler systems, is highly desirable.
- Previous experience of manual or automated testing is desirable but not required.
